Artist in the Classroom: Calligraphy with Suzanne, 5th Grade

Suzanne Blackwell was in recently & showed us how to draw calligraphy. The students were very engaged learning this new (old) technique. We worked in practice packets using Sheaffer pens. The final assignment included students drawing their names & some of them worked on quotes about art. We worked on correct pen position and strokes as well as ink flow.

For this year's 7th & 8th grade exploratory arts elective, we learned about illustration and using Copic Markers. Special thanks to Betsy Heath to getting us off to a good start!
