All grades went on grade level hikes this month up Monument Mountain. I was lucky enough to go with the 7th & 8th grade hikes. We stopped for at picnic lunch up near the top! You haven't been on a hike like this until you have HEARD it with your own ears! 100 kids on the trail is a sound unlike any other!

Artist in the Classroom! John & Diane Lindsay
John and Diane Lindsay are the grandparents of two of our students, Dana & Jared. They drove up from Connecticut to show us their stained glass art. The students were MORE than engaged in the presentation and had a million thoughtful questions. We learned about the process and the tools to create beautiful stained glass. Thank you so much Diane & John for visiting our classroom!
Teachers learning at Norman Rockwell Musuem!
On October 29th, art and music teachers from all over Berkshire County were lucky enough to have their professional development day at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. David Polansky who is an accomplished piano and trumpet player took us on a musical time travel that connected American history with music. Next, we got to explore the museum and study the paintings. After a lunch provided by the Red Lion Inn (yum), we participated in an art activity where using paint and collage, we created a modern interpretation of a Rockwell painting. What a fun day!

Digital Silhouettes with Personalize Backgrounds
We used picnik.com for the silhouettes and created the backgrounds in photoshop.
Thanks to Nicole for the fabulous tutorials! I hung these up in the front display case & everyone had fun trying to guess who everyone was. After a week, I added names, so people could see if their guess were right! We created these in Digital Arts Activity Club.
