On Friday, April 27, 7th and 8th grade French students at Monument Valley Middle School participated in LE FESTIVAL FRANÇAIS. Each student prepared “un produit” (a product) to sell at “le marché” (the market). The kids came up with really fun things to sell, including screen-printed artwork, French Fries (made out of clay), Cream Puffs, Crème Brûlée, mini Quiches, jewelry, tattoos, croissants, games, hand-made journals and more. Students were given “euros” to shop at the markets. They liked the fact that they could spend as many “euros” as they wanted. At the and of the markets, the shopping bags were quite full. We sang the FrenchNational Anthem and the song Aux Champs Elysées and played a few rounds of “Touchez!” (Simon Says) as well. C’était super!!
