Postage Stamp Paintings Huge & Tiny

In this project I had the 7th grade students first paint very very large (18x24 inches), and then challenged them to paint very very small (2x3 inches). The subject matter in this project had to be of an American animal. We also studied submission requirements that all postage stamps must have at USPS.com. Professional artists can submit designs that must be American. We studied the layout of stamps and learned that all American postage stamps must have price, USA, name (of animal in our case)and perforations. Great job everyone!

King Arthur Bread Making

King Arthur Flour came to school recently & taught us how to make bread! We got to take tools and ingredients home to make our own loaves. We brought in our loaves after we baked them. The loaves will be brought to the local food pantry.
